About the OER Task Force
At the NCCCLA Executive Board meeting held on April 21, 2021, the formation of an OER Task Force was approved by the members in attendance. The purpose of the OER Task Force was to provide opportunities for collaboration, help develop and share best practices, and to maintain an active learning community around OER and surrounding issues. By targeting the efforts and resources of our libraries, the OER Task Force could help make sustainable policies that would ultimately support efforts to incorporate more OER at all NC Community Colleges. Led by Julie Reed and Garrison Libby, the Task Force organized professional development sessions for community college librarians and developed an online toolkit titled: OER Faculty Toolkit for North Carolina Community Colleges.
With its mission fulfilled, the OER Task Force was retired as of [December 2025]. While OER remains an important topic to librarians, NCCCLA will continue to address it through conferences and professional development, just as the organization would for any other relevant topic of interest to librarians.
