District 6 Meeting July 15, 2025, 9 a.m. – 12 noon

For those not able to attend in person, please email Tina Adams (t_adams@southwesterncc.edu) and she will provide a Google meeting invite. The virtual meeting will begin at 9:45.

The best place to park is the parking garage. Susan checked with campus police, and they said if you park in the parking garage, you do not need to have a visitor parking pass.
Lunch at 12 noon: Optional
Meet for lunch at Hillman Brewing (25 Sweeten Creek Rd). It’s a 5-10 minute drive from AB-Tech. Please RSVP to t_adams@southwesterncc.edu if you plan to go to lunch.

Susan Toole, new Library Director at AB-Tech, will provide a tour of AB-Tech Library (~9:00-9:30)

District 6 Issues to Bring to the NCCCLA Board


The District 6 meeting was held on August 7, 2017, at the Watauga Campus of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. A late lunch followed at Town Tavern in Blowing Rock, NC.



October 10, 2016, from 11 AM-2 PM: NCCCLA District 6 held a Meet, Greet, and Eat at Catawba Valley Community College, Hickory, NC. The casual networking luncheon included a round table discussion led by CVCC’s Ari Sigal, MLS, titled “Ways to Project the Community College Library’s Profile in a Time of Declining Budgets.” Carmen Barnes-Holden offered an overview and update on NCCCLA activities and events and spoke on what she learned at her first NCCCLA conference, and what joining this professional organization has meant to her.
