VLC OER Project

Starting with the 2025-2026 academic year, the Virtual Learning Community (VLC) has created a team of faculty and librarians from across the state to create a community of practice and offer training, advice, etc. on implementing OER at N.C. community colleges. 

OER Community Meetings

  • Monthly meetings are held online the first Monday of each month at 1 p.m.

openNCCC
Library of open educational resources that promotes exploration, creation, and collaboration with the goal of enriching teaching and learning in North Carolina and around the world.

GoOpenNC
Focus is NC K-12, but includes a variety of resources curated by NC educators.

Open Education North Carolina (OENC)
Open Education North Carolina was an initiative that aimed to reduce the cost of higher education for North Carolina students by providing free, open e-textbooks for 30 of the most frequently-taught courses across North Carolina’s 2 and 4-year colleges and universities. The materials, tutorials, and other information are still available.
