We are very pleased to announce that Margaret Miles will be the keynote speaker for the 2018 NCCCLA Conference!
Margaret Miles grew up in Boone, N.C. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her undergraduate degree in Classical Archaeology. Due to a distinct lack of ancient Roman archaeological sites in the Southeastern U.S., she continued at Chapel Hill and gained a master’s degree in Library Science in order to render herself employable. She has been working at the New Hanover County Public Library during two centuries so far, and has never needed to relocate to change jobs because the job keeps changing without her having to move. Currently she has responsibilities in both children’s services and library automation and doesn’t really know what her job title is supposed to be, but she and the Library Director both like “Librarian without Portfolio.” She is also one of the most recent 12,400-or-so people who have appeared on a long-running television quiz show.
