Please join the NCCCLA OER Task Force for our spring 2024 Share & Learn session where our special guest will be Robert “Stephen” Venters. Stephen is the assistant manager at Pitt CC’s Fulford-Rhodes Student Store, and he brings with him years of experience dealing with textbooks, publishers, inclusive access, and everything in-between. The PCC student store is an independent bookstore that fulfills a wide range of curriculum needs in a variety of formats. Stephen will be there to help us, as community college librarians, to get a better handle on the distinctions between inclusive and equitable access, pros and cons of each, and what is making this such a hot topic right now. Bring your questions (and answers!) so that we can share and learn from each other in this very informal and relaxed session.
NCCCLA members will receive an email via MemberPlanet where they can register. Once registration is completed, the confirmation e-mail will include a Zoom link that can be used to access the session on Friday, March 1, 2024. We recommend that you log in a few minutes before the session is scheduled to being at 9:30 a.m. so that we can begin on time.
If you have any questions, please contact Angela Davis, OER Task Force Chairperson (asdavis688@my.pittcc.edu).
NCCCLA members have the opportunity to apply for a variety of awards and scholarships. Visit the Awards page for application guidelines and materials.

The NCCCLA OER Task Force invites you to join us for an online session with Dana Glauner, Director of Library Services, and Shelby Beard, Information Services Librarian as they share how South Piedmont CC uses OER.

South Piedmont Community College, a 2023 Top 10 Bellwether Award finalist, has proven its dedication to equity and student success through their “Learning Reimagined” project. Part of that project included incorporating OER (open educational resources) as much as possible throughout the curriculum. Join us as we hear from Dana Glauner and Shelby Beard and learn how their campus uses OER. There will be plenty of time for Q&A after their brief presentation.

The NCCCLA OER Taskforce invites you to attend an informal “Share and Learn” online session on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. We will start the session with a very brief intro to OER and the OER Taskforce. Most of the session will be open for informal sharing and Q&A. We want to know what is going on with OER at your campus. What OER resources have been particularly helpful to you or your faculty? In what areas do you feel you need assistance or extra support? Our hope is that no matter your level of familiarity with OER, you will come away with something new…new knowledge, new resources, and new connections!
Current NCCCLA members will receive information about how to join the meeting via MemberPlanet e-mail.
